New Delhi: Not less than 5 individuals, together with a 12-year-old baby, have been killed and 6 others have been injured when a chimney of a brick kiln collapsed on them in Assam’s Cachar district on Friday, information company ANI reported. The injured individuals are presently present process therapy.

Earlier, the Superintendent of Police of Cachar district, Numal Mahatta advised ANI that two individuals have been killed and seven others have been injured within the incident however the dying toll elevated to 5 on Saturday morning. Khalil Uddin Mazumder, MLA from Katigora Meeting constituency, stated the chimney of the brick kiln collapsed and fell on a number of individuals.
“The dying toll in yesterday’s brick kiln chimney collapse at Kalain space in Cachar district has risen to 5 and 6 different injured individuals are presently present process therapy,” Numal Mahatta, Superintendent of Police of Cachar district advised ANI. The incident befell within the Kalain space within the Katigora Meeting constituency, about 29 km from Silchar city within the Cachar district.
“Few individuals died and plenty of others have been injured within the incident. We referred the injured individuals to a hospital. Locals are additionally engaged in rescue operations. Firefighters additionally reached the spot and doused the flames. I personally referred to as the Principal of Silchar Medical School and Hospital, requesting him to offer correct therapy to the injured individuals,” ANI quoted Mazumder as saying.
An investigation into the incident has been initiated by the police.
